Victory Choir
Nursing Home Ministry

The mission of the Victory Choir is to sing to shut-ins primarily at Nursing Homes once a month and to take a word of encouragement to residents there. On the fourth Tuesday of each month at 10:30am, the Victory Choir, consisting of about 25 singers, gathers at a designated Nursing Home in the area to sing a two-part program consisting of old favorite hymns followed by “songs you didn’t learn in church,” or as the members call them, the “fun” songs. In a wonderfully unique way they touch the memories and the emotions of the residents.

This 30-minute program is fun for everyone, and the joy reflected on the faces of those residents is our abundant reward. Their repertoire is known by most everyone and rehearsals are not necessary.

Following each Tuesday program, the Victory Choir enjoys fellowship over a meal together at a local restaurant. This program runs from March through November, avoiding winter activities except for a Christmas potluck.
