Caring for Creation (C4C) is rooted in the Four Harmonies of the Bethel Bible Series: living in harmony with the environment, others, ourselves, and God. As Christians, we are called to care for the Earth and all life that it supports (Gen. 1:28). Our faith- and science-based approach welcomes all people and all paths to environmental stewardship and eco-justice.
Through educational events, we seek to motivate an environmentally minded congregation at Bethel, and we propose practical actions for our church, its property, and our congregants. C4C also highlights the link between environmental responsibility and social justice. Why? Because the effects of environmental degradation fall most heavily on the poor and marginalized.
