Bethel Concert Series: Organ Recital featuring Bethel Music Director Stephen Self

Bethel opens its 2026 music series with an organ recital by Stephen Self, Director of Music. He will perform The Stations of the Cross by renowned twentieth-century organist Marcel Dupré. This powerful fourteen-part work traces Jesus’ passion from his death sentence to his entombment. Originally improvised by Dupré and inspired by Paul Claudel’s poetry, the recital will include a translated reading of the poetry with visual depictions of each station. A meaningful beginning to Holy Week, the event is free and open to all, with a reception to follow.
