Women’s Retreat – October 4-6

“A Joy to Behold”

Please join us as we explore how to cultivate Joy. Will it be through The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo or The Book Of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu? What does the Bible have to teach us about Joy? We will gather on Friday night for a light supper and great discussion.

Saturday morning, Pam Shellberg, Bethel’s Director of Lifelong Faith Formation, will invite us to better understand JOY and help us identify ways to experience more joy and more happiness. Douglas Abrams, in his introduction to The Book of Joy, wrote, “Lasting happiness cannot be found in pursuit of any goal or achievement. It does not reside in fortune or fame.  It resides only in the human mind and heart and it is here that we hope you will find it.”

This invitation to Joy is open to all women. We will gather at Bethel Horizons at the Art Venture Center where we can have access to the art studio to create greeting cards. There will be time Saturday afternoon to create, hike, journal and explore. Bring your yoga mat. There will be an opportunity to learn about Reiki. Worship before dinner on Saturday, however, you are welcome to stay another evening. We invite you to come!

Psalm 46: 10 ” Be Still and Know that I am God”

Our prayer is that you will use this time to be with the Creator in the beautiful surrounding at Bethel Horizons and that you will leave with a renewed spirit.

There are options to be at Horizons Friday through Sunday, or just one night or just for the day on Saturday. The prices are adjusted accordingly. Registration will close on October 3.
