Bethel Bible Immersion: Genesis 1-11

The Bible is a large collection of sacred and historical writings, writings that are produced over the course of a thousand years. Some of the stories and memories stored in those writings go back thousands of years before that. Because the Bible covers so much time, it should come as no surprise that there is a great variety of writing in it. There are historical writings, poems, legends, meditations, prayers, curses, legal codes, letters, genealogies, hymns, and more. Because of all of those different types of writing, the Bible can be confusing at times. All of the literature in the Bible has one thing in common. It is all a part of the long story of God’s relationship with people. The Bible tells this story with great depth, detail, and honesty. It is a story, that is like a great novel. And like a great novel, The story of God’s relationship with people has a beginning — a prologue. It is 11 chapters long. It is a long prologue. But the Bible’s story is a long story. Genesis 1-11 is the prologue for the over one thousand pages that follow it. Join Pastor Mike on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM or 6:30 PM for a deep dive into the opening pages of the Bible.
