Youth in 6th-8th grades participate in confirmation to affirm the promises that were made for them in baptism through monthly small groups on the second Sunday of the month September- May. In addition to regular worship, students take classes, go on retreats to Bethel Horizons, and participate in service work to be God’s hands at work in the world.
Core Groups meet on the 2nd Sunday evening of the month, 6:30-8pm for pizza, large group games, and small group Bible study.
Classes are offered primarily on Sunday mornings with other options available.
Service projects can be completed on your own, or join us for congregational projects on the 1st Sunday of the month from 10-11am in the Youth Lounge/Games Room.
Small group leaders are needed for confirmation (2nd Sunday nights, 6:30-8pm), classes (Sunday mornings, 10:15-11:15am), and for high school youth group (1st & 3rd Sundays, 6:30-8pm).
A young person who knows 10 adults in the congregation and is called by name during their school years is more likely to continue to be part of a church community in college and into adulthood. Join us in building relationships and connecting in faith!
Classes are offered as an opportunity for an in-depth examination of how we fit into God’s story. Classes will have a particular emphasis on the Bible, faith practices and Lutheran foundations, or the role of society and culture in faith.
Confirmation students are asked to complete 15 hours (current 7th & 8th graders) or 20 hours (current 6th graders) of service to the community during their time in confirmation. Please submit your recorded hours on the form below as you go!
