Baptism
From the time of
Luther, Baptism has been a basic emphasis in Lutheran theology. Parents
who wish to have their child baptized into God's family at Bethel need
to do two things: 1) attend a one-session class, "What Is
Baptism?", which is offered the second Sunday of each month and
led by one of the Bethel pastors, and 2) meet with the pastor who will
be baptizing the child/ren. If you are not presently a member of Bethel,
you may attend the baptism class, but must meet with the pastor prior to
selecting a date for the baptism. Pre-registration for the class is
helpful.
Adults who wish to be
baptized need to meet with a pastor, through the
New
Member Classes,
or privately.
Baptisms are a part
of the service on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, usually
at the 10:45 service, or at the Saturday evening service the preceding
evening.
