Instruments at Bethel

The Organs of Bethel

The Sanctuary organ was originally built by Schantz Company of Orrville, Ohio, in 1963. During the 80's and early 90's it was enlarged in three stages to its present four-manual/74 ranks by Gayle Monette. It speaks from the rear gallery of the nave where the 70-voice Bethel Choir also sings. The Good Shepherd Chapel organ is a small three-rank unit Reuter organ.

There will be an Organ Crawl for those who would like to take a closer—even an inside look—at the Bethel organ to see how it works and all it can do. Come to the balcony on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 12/noon.

Pianos

Our prize piano at Bethel is an 85-note Steinway-B, newly-restored by Tim Farley.  This stunning instrument is a gift of the Bethel Endowment Foundation and an anonymous donor.  It leads worship and other activities in the Pentecost Room.

There is a 7' 4" Yamaha Grand in the Sanctuary, a 6' Steinway grand in the Fellowship Hall, a 6' Baldwin grand in the Choir room, and a 6' Samick grand in the choir loft, with other smaller pianos throughout the building.

Harpsichord

A Hubbard 2-manual harpsichord with three choirs built by Gayle Monette enhances our baroque musical offerings.
