others and the world around them. HAWC
programs serve all groups who work, live or play together. Benefits may

Customized Experiences
Working with you, HAWC
customizes adventure programs to meet your goals. HAWC
programs can vary from a single hour to multi-day experiences.
Team Building
Programs
Team Building Programs
build group cohesion and develop interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- The
Group Challenge Course consist
of ice-breakers, team and trust building activities and concludes with
a series of individual and group problem-solving challenges. The
problem-solving challenges are a series of "elements"
constructed of beams, cables, ropes and other resources secured to
trees. HAWC offers the Team Program only at Horizons.
- The
Portable Program is
the Group Challenge Course to go! It consists of ice-breakers, and,
depending on group goals, may include team and trust building
activities and individual and group problem-solving challenges. The
problem-solving challenges may involve our "bag of tricks"
or our "portable elements." We offer the Portable Program at
Horizons or your site.
Adventure Programs
Building on Team Programs,
Adventure Programs address risk-taking, personal limits, self-confidence
and support. HAWC provides appropriate personal safety systems.
- High
Ropes Course and Climbing Tower elements
consist of beams, cables and platforms which create adventure
elements
secured to telephone poles up to 45 feet above the ground.
Participants maneuver from one point to the next on challenges varying
in difficulty and ultimate goal. The High Ropes Course is located at
Bethel Horizons.
- Rock
Climbing & Rappelling
participants learn the basics of rock climbing &
rappelling techniques, equipment, philosophy and safety while
"climbing and rappelling" on Bethel Horizons bluffs.
- Caving
participants learn the natural history of caves and cave care
while spelunking the large and narrow passageways of limestone caves
in southwestern Wisconsin.
Challenge by Choice
HAWC
participants choose their type and degree of challenge. Facilitators
strive to match appropriate challenges with skill level to maximize
learning.
Specialized Programs
HAWC offers a variety of single
day to weeklong Specialized Programs for adults and youth. Flyers are
available upon request.
