Peter Narum as we explore the path and experience of contemplative
spirituality, using Fr. Richard Rihr's book, Everything Belongs,
as our guide. This retreat is designed as a time for prayer,
renewal, self-exploration, silence, and rest. Pleaset note: this

experiencing marital separation or divorce. We also offer an
annual retreat for anyone going through the divorce process. This

Pedro and Pastor Peter from Bethel as we explore and reflect on
discipleship, using Pastor Michael Foss' book, Real Faith for Real
Life, as our guide. This retreat will help prepare us for
Bethel's Lenten "40 Days of Spiritual Renewal." Translation from

Retreat - Lutheranism: Reformation and Action

other Latinos from Madison as we gather together in fellowship, worship
and enlightenment of the reforms in the Church of Christ through the
ages and how many have been led into action fo rGod's kingdom through
the Lutheran reformation movement. Learn about Bethel Horizons through hiking,

Couples' Retreat

As
this year's couples retreat takes place during Lent, we will explore
Marriage as a Path of Discipleship: how commitment and conflict provide
a path of spiritual growth, and how Christ's call to "love your
neighbor" and command to forgive are lived out as husband and wife.
Cost: $120 per couple. We meet Friday 7 pm through Saturday 6 pm.

Annual Women's Retreat

Women of all
ages are invited to participate in a weekend retreat celebrating
"Spiritual Balance." A keynote speaker will be featured on
Saturday and workshops will include: guided hikes, prayer, wellness,
crafts, yoga and much more! Opportunities for self-guided hiking,

Spring Festival

beautiful flowers, and a magnificent view. Come out for an

Bikeathon

Join in our
21st annual Bikeathon to benefit the year round naturalist
and environmental education programs of Bethel Horizons. You're invited
to bike or hike the Military Ridge trail from Verona to Dodgeville… or
any portion of it. All participants will receive a T-shirt and lunch,
snacks and drinks along the way, and an evening meal at Bethel Horizons
as well as free overnight accommodations. Fantastic prizes are also
available to all who raise funds. Shuttles available as well. Join us!!
Congregational Picnic
June 4
Join hundreds
of Bethel members as we celebrate our 150th church
anniversary with a special picnic day at Horizons. We'll focus on our
historic Norwegian past and our contemporary Latino present. The day
begins with Latino worship at 10:30 am. Enjoy the traditional chicken
BBQ as well as pie and ice cream. Then enjoy numerous programs related
to our heritage… past and present. Music, hikes, hayrides, children's
games and an active Art Ventures site will be part of this special day.

KILN Building Residency Phase One - Foundation

Master Kiln Builder will instruct participants about the workings of an
anagama kiln during the construction of an actual kiln onsite.
Cost $375 per person. Includes room, board, instruction, use of
studio space and wheel for work on your own.

Don Hunt,
Bethel Horizons Art Ventures artist, will lead this creative wheel
pottery workshop designed for beginner to advanced potters. Visits to
local artists, guest artists and a visit to American Players Theater
complement the time spent creating personal art. Cost: $375 per person
includes room, board, instruction, two bags of clay, use of wheel and a
play at American Players Theater. University Credit is available for an

Forest
Finds

This workshop
will focus on forestry education. Using ideas from LEAF, learn
how to utilize a school forest or park and find information to help
create lesson plans. We will work on tree identification,
forestry practices, games, activities, and curriculum ideas.

KILN Building
Residency Phase Two - The Arch and Environment

Family Pottery Weekend
July 7-9
Intergenerational workshop especially for beginners. Explore
creating in clay - both wheel and hand building. No experience is
required. Workshop is designed to bring families together with
clay. Participants will stay and eat in the Prairie Center.
Cost $300 per family/ $100 per person includes room, board, instruction
and materials. Clay materials and firing are extra. (Begins
July 7 at 5 pm to July9 at 12:00 noon.)

Ventures Summer Professional Studio Anagama Kiln Building

Be inspired
by and have professional dialogue with our Featured Artisit, Don Reitz.
This week is designed for serious students and professionals to use a
state-ot-the-art ceramics facility to create their own statement in
clay. Our 3,000 square foot facility is equipped with 30 potter's
wheels, slab rollers, clay extruders and gas, electric and raku kilns.
Firing is extra. Artists must bring their own clay body.

Birds

will focus on using birds as a subject in your classroom. We will
learn about bird behavior, bird identification, bird songs, migration
