Sunday School
Bethel's Sunday morning classes will begin on September 11, 2011 at 9:15 in English and 11:00 in Spanish for 2 year olds through 6th grade.
The traditional classes use Augsburg Fortress' SPARK! curriculum, which is created to be biblically sound, educationally effective, and engaging for everyone.
Faith! Family! Fun! are woven together to help children experience God's stories through music, stories, games and crafts. Prayer, friendship, and small group connections within the classroom are emphasized. 6th grade meets in Genesis Café for "Breakfast Club" and participates in worship.
At 11:00, students meet in their classroom, using the SPARK! curriculum, to learn about God through Bible stories and hands-on activities in a bi-lingual environment.
New students are always welcome in Sunday School! To register, complete the registration form and return to Jacqui Shanda at Bethel.

Bethel's Faithful Future Fall Workshop November 19, 2011
Youth ministry has changed. Children's ministry has changed. The culture has changed. And the church is called to foster a faith that matters within our young people. What does this calling mean for us at Bethel? Professors Terri Elton and Tim Coltvet from Luther Seminary will lead a Saturday workshop to lay out key findings of the Exemplary Youth Ministry study, explore what this means for Bethel, and begin mapping Bethel's assets for moving into the future.
Sunday School Milestones Bethel is committed to equipping parents to develop their children's life in faith. We offer quarterly family devotionals and special devotional materials for Advent and Lent. We assist parents and sponsors with their baptismal promise to, "place in their hands the holy scriptures" by presenting children with a copy of SPARK! Story Bible, featuring stories from their weekly curriculum, in kindergarten. This year's third grade students will receive a copy of the SPARK! NRSV Bible on October 9, 2011. Third grade students also receive instruction after Easter for their preparation to celebrate Holy Communion.
All Sunday School students are invited to participate in the annual Christmas pageant on Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2011.
